WASHINGTON -- The Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions, commonly known as COAC, will meet Aug. 3 for its quarterly meeting.
Among the items on the agenda are a discussion of security seals on domestic cargo, advance data requirements, trade enforcement initiatives, and advance data requirements.
The meeting will be held in the Horizon Ballroom of the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in Washington from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
In related news, Customs is seeking volunteers to serve on the 10th term of COAC.
The agency will be looking for applicants to replace 10 COAC members whose terms expire after the August quarterly meeting, plus one to fill out the unexpired term of a member who resigned earlier this year.
Members serve two-year terms, with the option of being appointed for a second term. COAC members represent carriers, shippers and intermediaries that do business with Customs. Customs also selects members to represent different geographic areas.
The deadline for applications is Sept. 15. For more information, contact Wanda J. Tate, program management specialist, at 202 344 1440, or see The Journal of Commerce's Federal Register Watch.
