On Thursday November 15, 2007 Mr. Suchart Chantaranakaracha, TNSC Chairman, and TNSC Directors hosted a luncheon to bid farewell to Ms. Lena Ng, First Secretary of Embassy of Singapore on the occasion of completing her term of office in Thailand, and to welcome Mr. Philip Pang who will be Ms. Lena’s successor. The luncheon was held at Chinese Restaurant, Plaza Athenee Hotel.

On November 2, 2007 Mr. Suchart Chantaranakaracha, TNSC Chairman, gave a presentation on “Challenges of Thai exporters in the international supply chain security: The way ahead” at the seminar on “Doing business with the EU Security and facilitation in the International Trade Supply Chain: The new EU Supply Chain Security requirements.” The seminar was jointly organized by Business Information Center of the Delegation of the European Commission to Thailand, the Customs Department, Department of Foreign Trade and Thai Shippers’ Council.
The main objective of the seminar was to publicize new EU supply chain security measures project of Authorized Economic Operator: AEO. The project has been run to achieve the aim of a Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade, which has been put forward by World Customs Organization: WCO, to develop global customs system. This seminar was held at Rainbow Hall, Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel. There were altogether 350 participants.

On Wednesday November 14, 2007 Thai National Shippers’ Council organized the 3rd/2007 Entrepreneur and Members Meeting in Prachinburi. The event was chaired by Mr.Somboon Juasathirattana, Director, who gave a warm welcoming remark to the participants before opening the seminar. After that, Ms. Runothai Mahaddhananond, Executive Director, gave a presentation on “TNSC’s roles and developments in logistics” and Ms. Chalida Phankravee, Customs Valuation Officer 8 from the Customs Department, on “E-Paperless and its real problems at Laem Chabang Port and Suvarnabhumi Airport.”
In the afternoon, Mr.Voratat Tantimongkolsuk, Secretary-General of Thai Air Freight Association (TAFA), also gave a presentation on “Problem of E-export system utilization in air transport procedure at Suvarnabhumi Airport from the point of view of air freight forwarding agent”
at Tawaravadee Resort Hotel. There were altogether 34 participants form 22 companies attending the seminar. By this number, 17 people from 11 companies were TNSC members and the others were entrepreneurs from 11 non-member companies.
